Lighting leads are responsible to manage show, teams (KA/TA/A) to ensure they deliver their work to the very highest standard in a timely manner. They plan lighting strategies that will be utilized on a show and they provide clear a artistic and technical direction to the team.

Leads assign sequences and key shots to the Key and Technical Artists by encouraging open communication and knowledge sharing through to the Artists. They present lighting work by driving dailies sessions and receive feedback from Supervisors.

They collaborate closely with other department leads to resolve issues and to determine CG approaches.

Example Tasks:

- Conduct pre-production planning with CG Supervisor to determine procedures and show setup
- Deliver creative feedback from the show supervisors to the team
- Plan key/child shots assignments with Key Artists
- Work with Key Artists to review work before dailies sessions with Supervisors
- Work with Technical Artists in pipeline and work-flow tools
- Work with coordinators to establish realistic schedules and hit quotas.
