We are currently seeking highly motivated, service-oriented individuals to join the Facility Set-Up Department for **full-time, FACILITY SET UP AFTERNOON SUPERVISOR **position.Reporting to the Operations Manager, Facility Set-Up, and the Supervisor responsible for supporting management in the overall supervision of the Facility Set-Up team. This position is responsible for:
**GENERAL RESPONSBILITIES**:

- Liaise with managers and department heads within the facility to ensure that all events and client needs are met and that work is completed in accordance with the Facilities Service Standards.
- Review all work orders daily and look ahead at upcoming weeks for event demands; ensure all items and equipment that are required through the course of the shift and for each event are ready.
- Supervision of team members, directing the work to ensure all assigned tasks are completed according to deadlines and to accurate specifications as per work orders and floor plans.
- Communicate directly with event client, MOD’s, contractors and internal teams to ensure accuracy of the set ups.
- Consult with management in various departments in regards to changes, safety concerns or special requests, prioritizing and reallocating team resources as required.
- Employee performance management and coaching, using judgement to escalate to management and HR as needed.
- Assist in training of all employees in proper room set-ups and use of equipment.
- Model and reiterate safety standards with Crew ongoing. Identify additional training and coaching needs, to be done on the job and escalated to management where appropriate.
- Ensure all storage rooms are kept in a clean and orderly fashion with all equipment on the proper racks.

**KEY REQUIREMENTS**:

- Minimum of 2+ years of Supervisory experience in an event based setting, preferably in a large-scale, busy hotel or convention center.
- Must have strong leadership and decision-making skills, with proven ability to lead a team, direct employees to assigned activities, and to hold them accountable for productivity.
- Ability to understand all aspects of documentation within the department including event work orders, and ability to prioritize those tasks.
- Must be highly organized and self-motivated in order to handle many event deadlines and demands at one time.
- Professional presentation and ability to maintain a consistently calm disposition while working in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Exceptional focus on our high standard of guest service, modelling these standards at all times.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills, as well as advanced interpersonal skills to coach and motivate a large group of employees and communicate with internal and external clients.
- Computer proficiency specifically in Outlook, Word and Excel. Proficiency with a comprehensive electronic catering/food and beverage system, particularly EBMS, is an asset.
- Knowledge and experience with various types of room set ups and events is an advantage.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations that are set out by WorkSafe BC.

**OTHER REQUIREMENTS**:

- Must be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for the entire shift.
- Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push and pull items weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally greater with another person.
- The employee is required to bend stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb, and must have the ability to reach overhead, above the shoulders.
- Must be able to go from warm to cold climates.

**SHIFTS AND HOURS**:
Shift start and end times will be determined by business needs and hours may vary week to week depending on event demand. The position may require working early morning, afternoons, late evening, graveyard shifts, weekends and holidays. Overtime may be required.
