**Job Overview**

The _**Sourcing Manager**_ is responsible for sourcing and negotiating contracts for assigned categories across the organization. This role will develop long term sourcing strategies and drive improvements by partnering with the Purchasing Managers for the various businesses.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Contribute to the execution of the company’s long-term plan (LTP) within the Purchasing department
- Accountable for strategic source plans and developing the pipeline of opportunities
- Provide the longer-term category perspectives highlighting opportunities and risks
- Responsible for reducing costs of purchased goods and services without jeopardizing quality or business continuity
- Improve system efficiency and data integrity by leveraging automation, adopting new technologies while staying within budget
- Support the business growth agenda by sourcing new products for the business
- Own category expertise and negotiates agreements on behalf of overall company targeting the top 90% of category spend at a minimum
- Monitor and manage the external marketplace by providing longer-term category perspectives, highlighting opportunities and risks
- Resolve chronic and severe performance issues
- Accountable for budgets, measuring and forecasting Purchase Price Variance (PPV) to the business

**Recipe for Success**:

- Completion of university degree or college diploma in Supply Chain Fundamentals or Business
- Minimum 5 years of purchasing or sourcing experience within a manufacturing environment
- Experience with ERP or similar business systems experience
- Knowledge of manufacturing and equipment for food processing and high-speed packaging, as well as Bakery Manufacturing including ingredients
- Must possess the financial acumen to manage, measure, and improve operational effectiveness and profitability
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written; strong listening skills).
- Strong judgement, analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions.
- Good ability to motivate and empower team members by providing feedback and recognition
- Strong computer systems (MS Office, ERP systems)
- Working Knowledge of Lean/Continuous Improvement experience is an asset
