Under the supervision of the General Plant Manager, the **Health and Safety Manager** is responsible for supervising the Health and Safety Coordinator, as well as overseeing the Health and Safety program and staff across the mill. We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced leader to drive Health and Safety initiatives throughout the mill and champion a strong safety culture. **What you can expect**
**Leadership and Program Development**
- Promote leadership and continuous improvement in Health and Safety programs.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety objectives, policies, and regulations.
- Develop and manage the implementation of the Strategic Plan with stakeholders.
- Foster a proactive and accountable culture for occupational health and safety.
- Oversee the administration of Health & Safety Programs.
- Supervise and mentor the Health & Safety Coordinator.
**Compliance and Audits**
- Support inspections/audits, identify corrective actions, and ensure timely implementation and documentation.
- Meet reporting requirements (internal, corporate, external)
- Manage the Safety budget, expenses, and capital requests.
**Collaboration and Special Projects**
- Collaborate on installations, special projects, change management, and training objectives.
- Work with HR on special projects, employee relations, resourcing, onboarding, and job accommodations.
**Job Requirements**:
- Occupational Health & Safety Certificate/Program graduate (degree or diploma)
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) certification
- 7+ years experience as a Safety professional in an industrial environment
- Knowledgeable in Occupational Health and Safety legislation
- Passionate about creating and implementing Health and Safety programs with the ability to get buy in from all employees through interpersonal skills

The starting range for this role is $91,000 to $120,000 or higher, depending on your experience.
