CPA Alberta is the professional regulatory organization representing Alberta’s approximately 30,000 Chartered Professional Accountants (CPAs). Alberta’s CPA’s are among the more than 200,000 Canadian CPAs who provide financial and management expertise across the country and around the world, at every level and in every sector. CPA Alberta’s legislated mandate is to protect the interest of the public, protect the integrity of the profession, promote and increase the competence of Alberta CPAs, and regulate the conduct of Alberta CPAs.
CPA Alberta has offices in Edmonton and Calgary.
**The Role**

Reporting to the Manager, Event Management, this position is responsible for the research, planning, and execution of CPA Alberta’s in-person and virtual events and related initiatives. The position serves as an administrative contact and liaison for internal and external contacts, anticipates challenges, finds solutions and implements changes. The Event Coordinator will work independently with mínimal supervision in an environment of multiple and conflicting priorities.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Accountable for planning, organizing, managing, and executing virtual and in-person events and initiatives for the department.
- Administration of registration procedures and systems, as well as various support duties including coding invoices and packing materials for events.
- Foster and maintain positive professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist management and senior management with input in strategy development and execution of departmental goals.
- Manage tasks and event related inquiries with diligence, awareness, and timeliness.
**Requirements**:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant discipline
- Previous event coordination experience is a strong asset
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Exceptional customer service orientation
- Ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships
- Strong listening, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail in all areas of work
- Experience working independently and in a team-oriented environment
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
- Comfortable hosting online events and managing online event platforms
- Virtual event certification or related experience is an asset

**Working Conditions**
- Fast paced work environment
- Travel to events and meetings within Edmonton, Calgary, Red Deer and other major centres may be required, both during and outside of core business hours
