Our Story:
The idea sprung to life in Montreal in 1993. We started out with just a few key thoughts and a passion for innovation and memorable experiences.
From the first, we wanted to take our favourite mealtime ingredients and creatively expand their culinary taste delights across not just breakfast and brunch but also to lunch and dinner—set in a welcoming and energetic bar and café ambiance. This new level of innovation has led us to today’s satisfying and diverse Eggspectation menu ranging from freshly prepared artisanal brioche French toast, thin French crepes, Belgian waffles, fluffy buttermilk pancakes, pastas, burgers, seafood, steak and—of course—eggs benedict Those Montreal beginnings have grown to fit today’s fresh, clean, and very tasty modern Canadian cuisine.
Even after 25 years, we are thrilled to celebrate our customer friendly culture with its focus on service, an eye toward better eating, and a passionate reverence for all things “breakfasty.”
About the role:
Your priority will lie with cleaning kitchen items and utensils and dishes. Like you know, this job is mostly physical, so if you want to work in this office, you must be energetic. When employed, you will be expected to prepare meat and vegetables for cooking by cutting, washing, and seasoning them. You will also cook, but only under the supervision of the chefs or the cooks.
Furthermore, you will help maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, clear the tables, take inventory of ingredients used, and make sure all health standards are met. You will as well maintain continuous communication with the management and the other employees for smooth operations.
Skills needed in performing this task include listening skills, communication skills, must be able to effectively solve problems, dexterity, time management skills, willingness to agree with food safety procedures, and physical strength.
Key Notes:
- Ensures exceptional standards are consistently met and that activities are carried out effectively
- Inspects prep area and storage areas to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Estimates kitchen line stock needs, and stocks plates and mise-en-place.
- Preferably 1+ year of experiencing operations with a back of the house restaurant team
- * Outstanding communication, enthusiasm and proactive skills
- Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule often including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting
- Food Handler’s License preferred
Pay: $17-19/ hour + tips
