Calgary, Canada JIP Telecom Inc. Full time

Essential Responsibilities
- Install fibre optic cabling and associated infrastructure into commercial and multi-tenant buildings.
- Dress a variety of fibre optic panels with a high focus on quality.
- Terminate fibre cables.
- Operation of fibre optic test equipment
- Interact with customers, tenants, and landlords in a professional and courteous manner.
- Troubleshoot technical issues
- Utilize a mix of power tools and hand tools.
- Place cable and service boxes as they relate to civil construction focused installations.
- Follow direction of supervisors and team leads.
- Work both indoors and outdoors in order to complete installs from start to finish.
- Adhere to company safety practices.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience working with fibre optics an asset
- Previous experience in telecom, construction, or civil construction considered an asset
- Strong dexterity and technical aptitude
- Fibre splicing experience an asset
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal
- Ability to manage a physically demanding position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting, working at heights and in confined spaces
- Other valid safety tickets considered an asset (Confined Space, WHMIS, Fall Arrest, First Aid)
- Maintain a valid Class5 drivers license
- Successful completion of a criminal background check

Working Conditions
- Ability to travel to work locations that change on a regular basis
- Working independently and as part of a team
- Working inside and outside when necessary

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Additional pay:

- Overtime pay
