Assistant Manager, Tax Preparation Services_**
**How does the role impact the organization?**
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Tax Preparation Services, you will provide expertise in tax return preparation services while providing ongoing support to the Private Client and Trust Services divisions at RJL. The position offers the opportunity to become a key resource in one of Canada’s largest markets, joining an established team of tax professionals located in Vancouver and Montreal who work together to deliver exemplary tax preparation services across the country.
A critical objective for incumbents in this role is to enhance the client experience while supporting investment advisors and trust officers. The individual will provide tax preparation services and support tax planning services with a particular emphasis on broadening the dialogue with clients, and their overall value proposition, while assisting firm efforts to consolidate assets and increase revenues.
**What will your role be responsible for?**
**Client Relationship Management**
- Partner effectively with the private client division, trust company division, investment advisors, trust officers, and its legal, tax and financial planning groups to expand the tax services business in the region; and
- Provide educational materials on tax planning and tax preparation via presentations, written materials, and individual consultations
**Tax Expertise**
- Leadership in the delivery of tax preparation and planning services for personal, corporate, trust and estate clients of Raymond James (T1, T2, T3);
- Maintain high quality control by reviewing tax returns and other work done by team members for accuracy and completeness; and
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the Federal Income Tax Act and the Quebec Income Tax Act
**Leadership**
- Assist with engagement planning;
- Provide outstanding client service to deepen relationships with both investment advisors and trust officers;
- Provide support to ensure efficient processes and systems are implemented in the delivery of tax preparation services; and
- Provide on-the-job training, coaching, feedback to assist with development of associates and senior associates in the tax preparation team
**Business Strategy and Executive**
- Collaborate with colleagues across the country to provide a unified delivery of tax services across Canada;
- Contribute to strategic and operational planning related to client and practice management, as well as the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes; and
- Support associates as necessary to support the tax preparation services business
**Risk Management and Control**
- Liaise with compliance and other related lines of business to support risk management and issues pertaining to the delivery of tax preparation services;
- Take lead on resolving complex business/client challenges and collaborate with clients, team members and stakeholders when required; and
- Other duties and projects as assigned

- Fundamental knowledge of investment concepts, practices, and procedures used in the wealth management or financial services industry;
