**The Opportunity**:
The Parks Labourer 1 positions are key positions, which allow Parks to provide our seasonal operational service levels. This position is required for landscape maintenance in the Parks section.
- First aid course is desirable
- Alberta Driver’s License
- Six months’ experience
- Ability to perform basic labouring activities
- Ability to operate and maintain related small, motorized equipment (e.g. lawnmowers, chainsaws, etc.) and to use a variety of standard labouring tools.
- Ability to cooperate with colleagues as a team, and to understand and follow instructions.
- Ability to exert frequent physical effort (e.g. planting, digging, pruning, operating mowers, erecting rink boards, playground and other equipment) and to work in fatiguing positions (e.g. bending, kneeling, etc.).
- Ability to work outside in most types of weather.
- Must be able to work independently and/or with a crew.
- Ability to exercise care and to follow all safety policies and procedures, particularly in high public-use areas.

**Remuneration**:
$25.40 to $26.89 per hour.
**Hours of Work**:
80 hours biweekly; Monday to Friday. Some evening and weekend work may be required.
**Additional Information**:
The term of this position is anticipated to be 6 months with a possibility of extension.
More than one position may be hired from this posting.
