**PURPOSE OF POSITION**

The Connections to Healing Support worker will provide referrals and book appointments on behalf of the Therapist, advocacy, information, safety planning, and child care, provide any support as required to the Connections to Healing Program. All programs are offered within a wholistic approach which includes traditional Indigenous Spiritual concepts and ceremonies; blended with contemporary methods.

This position will need to organize Elders, knowledge holders, plan and schedule ceremony. Also work collaboratively with all organizational programs to ensure fulfilment of best practices.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Strong assessment skills.
- Telephone help and support.
- Provide information on all programs, complete referrals and assessments prior to intakes.
- Provide childcare during Healing Circles and other Family Wellness Centre programs.
- Provide information and safety planning to those experiencing family violence
- Chronologically compile sort and organize client files in preparation for data. entry Input data in a timely and accurate manner into web-based information system.
- Pay attention to details, crosscheck and verify all data entered into the database.
- Maintain and update a workflow record regarding work completed and work pending.
- Other duties, as requested by the Wellness Centre Team Lead, Operations Manager, and Chief Executive Officer.

**SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS**
- Diploma in Social Work or related field with related experience. Consideration will also be given to those currently enrolled in a Post Secondary program.
- Understanding and knowledge of Indigenous culture and traditions, the ability to speak an Indigenous language would be an asset.
- Knowledge of family violence, MMIWG2S+, Intergenerational trauma and its effects.
- Knowledge of community resources and programs available to support families and Individuals.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and advocacy skills.
- Strong organizational skills and initiative.
- Ability to work independently & as part of a team.
- Competent computer skills & accurate program record maintenance.
- Current Suicide Intervention/Prevention & CPR/First Aid training would be an asset.
- Must provide proof of a current Police Check & Child Welfare Intervention Services Check.
