Summary

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Coordinator oversees the safety program, provides administrative support and assists in employee relations.

Essential Functions
- Assist in day to day Human Resources activities, staffing and recruitment, employee file maintenance
- Administrative support to the Human Resources Manager, providing all administrative reports in a timely and accurate format (manning lists, org charts, HR reports, safety report, vacation planners, safety meeting minutes)
- Oversee the Occupational Health and Safety program in conjunction with the HR Manager and Plant Manager (Chair of the Joint Health and Safety Committee, training, maintain safety and inspection records, maintain SDS file, safety awards, audits & inspection, safety training etc.)
- Investigate workplace injuries/accidents, complete and submit Workplace Safety & Insurance Board documents when required
- Assist with and submit company communications which includes memorandums, postings and requisitions, maintain bulletin boards
- Oversee coordination and administration of temporary agency personnel
- Perform a variety of other duties as required

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education or related experience
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Suite, Lotus Notes.
- Over 2-3 years of experience in a similar role in an office environment.
- Capable of performing detail oriented, accurate information with high quality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to work with minimum supervision and handle confidential information.
- Previous experience in Safety, Human Resources or admin is a must.

Work Environment

1. General office setting with periodic exposure to (1) noise, (2) airborne dust, (3) food production odours, (4) walking and standing on concrete, (5) in the vicinity of heavy mobile equipment.

2. A heavily audited food environment requiring close adherence to compliance, cleanliness and safety.
