Our Pastry Chef de Partie is responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods for both cafés and restaurants. Working under the Pastry Sous Chef, you will ensure consistency, creativity, and food safety standards within the pastry section. Leading your section, to create exceptional treats for our customers.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Prepare, produce, and present high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods, including croissants, breads, cakes, tarts, mousses, and other confections.
- Follow recipes and instructions to maintain consistent quality and presentation standards in line with BCP guidelines.
- Oversee inventory management, maintaining stock levels of pastry ingredients and supplies, and minimizing waste.
- Represent BCP by fostering a positive workplace culture and promoting the company’s values in daily operations.
- Ensure the team follows safe work practices and complies with all sanitation, health, and safety regulations, maintaining a safe and injury-free workplace.
- Support the Pastry Chef in managing kitchen operations, including controlling labour costs, food costs, and expenses within budgeted guidelines.
- Supervise and lead pastry team operations in the absence of the Pastry Chef.
- Coach and mentor culinary staff, identifying training needs and providing necessary support to ensure professional growth.
- Promote a collaborative and professional work environment, recognizing and rewarding exceptional performance.
- Maintain strong relationships with other kitchen areas and internal departments.
- Attend and actively participate in monthly kitchen meetings.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of all kitchen equipment and uphold cleanliness and sanitation standards.
- Work safely. Obey all health and safety policies and procedures and report injuries and hazards immediately
- Additional duties may be assigned to help meet guest and business needs.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in a professional pastry kitchen, ideally in a high-end restaurant, hotel, or bakery.
- Strong understanding of pastry techniques, baking methods, and food safety standards.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A creative flair for developing and presenting new pastry items.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
