**Service Representative, Ironmaking (Hamilton, Ontario, CAN)**

**Allied Mineral Products** is a leading manufacturer of monolithic refractories worldwide. We are seeking a qualified
**Service Representative, Ironmaking** in our Hamilton, Ontario, Canada location to provide field service support to the sales representatives.

**Key Duties**:

- Oversee and/or supervise refractory installations in Iron making cast house accounts and as required in other areas of the steel plant to support the efforts of Allied’s Sales representatives.
- Perform inspections 3 times per week and report findings.
- Co-ordinate scheduled and nonscheduled work activities with subcontractors.
- Some night shift work: usually 1 or 2 times per month on average to supervise subcontractors.
- Daily start time 6:45 am on site at AMP trailer. Workday is flexible, required to be on site during mornings.
- Ensure that all materials are correctly installed and sintered. Report all results to the appropriate account manager or Sales Representative.
- Assist in the development of standard operating practices and procedures related to cast house maintenance.
- Assist management in processing special customer requests. Provide support to the sales department by handling assigned customer inquiries and performing the follow-up required, as a result of these calls.
- Assist management with maintaining all quality and refractory performance records, reports and inspections associated with refractory installations.
- Support installations in other steel plant trials on an as required basis.
- For assigned accounts, follow-up regularly on competitive activity, product performance, proper use of our written procedures, etc. With these accounts, you should be recognized as a constant and consistent presence by Steel plant personnel and supervisors.
- Follow all company rules and regulations and All Customer policies related to Health and Safety.

**Qualifications**:

- Requires high school diploma or masonry/bricklayer trade school certificate, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- An Ironmaking maintenance or operations background with working knowledge of refractory bricks, rams, plastics, mortar, insulation board, precast shapes, gunite, shotcrete and castables.
- Working knowledge of refractory installation, sintering and usage.
- Requires good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and passport and keep current.

**Working Environment**:

- Work onsite at Dofasco and occasionally from home-based office.
- Required to wear appropriate PPE as required for each facility and as per Allied’s Safety & Health policy. Follow all customer’s site-specific safety rules and policies.
