Feed Mill Technician

Barrhill Feeders Inc. is searching for a full-time Feed Mill Technician to join our progressive and growing team. Barrhill Feeders Inc. is currently feeding 75,000 head between two feedlot operations located 10 miles North of Picture Butte, AB or 10 miles East of Barons, AB. As a Feed Mill Technician, you are responsible for the daily feed mill operation, maintenance, repair, and maintaining records for all repairs and maintenance.

Major Responsibilities:

- Daily feed mill operation.
- Maintenance and repair of the feed mill.
- Managing scheduled preventive maintenance of the feed mill.
- Cost benefits analyses of feed mill repair costs.
- Maintaining records for all repairs and maintenance.
- Maintaining records of feed mill commodity and micro ingredient inventory.

Experience/Skills Required:

- Valid driver’s license.
- Good attitude and team player.
- Self-motivated.
- Attention to detail.
- Good communication skills.
- Communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to climb heights and follow safety protocols (bins, platforms, etc.).
- Experience in the feedlot industry.
- Experience with operating equipment (loader, skid steer, etc.) (preferred, but not required).
- Experience operating, maintaining, and repairing feed mills.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

- Repetitive tasks.
- Ability to lift 60 lbs.
- Combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
- Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions.

Hours:

- Shift Rotation: Monday-Friday, and weekends as needed/on-call.

Transportation:

- Own transportation, valid driver’s license.

Pay: $24.00-$30.00 per hour
