JOB SUMMARY
The General Manager’s purpose is to manage all aspects of the facility; and to help build the Personal Trainer’s client base that contributes to departmental revenues by maintaining an existing client base, marketing programs and services, and utilizing the highest quality of customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE TO OVERSEE AND MANAGE TRAINERS TO:
- Maintain a personal commitment to meeting the needs of members and guests.
- Demonstrate correct use of all weight and cardiovascular equipment.
- Conduct client interviews and counsel members on exercise recommendations based on fitness evaluations and members’ needs and goals.
- Assist in the development and implementation of club programs and events.
- Behave as a role model by leading and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
- Always maintain a positive attitude when working with members.
- Seek opportunities for personal and professional growth.
- Dress professionally, according to the current dress code standards.
- Perform a customer service role by assisting members in monitoring their exercise programs, encouraging members to reach their fitness and wellness goals, and handling member concerns and complaints quickly and effectively.
- Actively market and promote personal training to acquire new members and retain existing members.
- Encourage members to take advantage of other club services and programs.
- Recommend changes for programming and services in line with current market trends.
- Supervise all front desk staff on daily operations.
- Work with office staff on implementing standards and procedures.
- Conduct meetings for the front desk staff according to the schedule.
- Consistently coach, mentor, and motivate team members to help deliver exceptional service to our guests.
- Assist in the development and implementation of club programs and events.
- Liaison between members and Membership Office: Including prospects and current members.
- Attend other departments and Head office meetings.
- Actively participate in recruiting, onboarding, and training all front desk new hires.
- Fields all member complaints and concerns and handles them according to the Motion Fitness customer recovery procedures.
- Handle membership payments, cancellations, and freezes
- Conduct employee performance reviews by providing feedback on employees’ performance.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Must have current CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Criminal Check (must be obtained within 60 days of hire)
WORKING CONDITIONS
- May need to work irregular hours to accommodate clients’ work schedules.
