**EXPERT DATABASE ANALYST**
**THE OPPORTUNITY**
The **consultant is expected to start ASAP and the contract length is 2 years.**
**Project Context**
The BCCDC, an agency of the Provincial Health Services Authority has the mandate to collect and test wastewater and other specimen sources for COVID virus variants. This testing is performed using instruments that perform whole genome sequencing. To realize greater efficiency in this vital process, PHSA and BCCDC are investing in a new Laboratory Information Management System: Clinisys Lab Platform.
A **part time** Expert level database analyst is required to support the project team working to deploy this new LIMS. The scope of the project includes:
- Data archival to the PDHIS Laboratory Data Archive Solution (Sunset);
- Complex data query and presentation in human readable report format;
- Information System Integration including but not limited to: Other LIS (i.e. Sunquest) and Excelleris
**Service Required**
The Database analyst will be required to devise programmatic means of consuming data from the newly implemented LIMS, storing it in tables and data structures within the PDHIS Laboratory Data Archive (Sunset) in such a way that it can subsequently be queried for quality assurance, as well as for reporting purposes. Reports so generated must be exchanged with other information systems via HL7 V2.3 based interface.
**Consultant Qualifications**
- Previous successful experience working on projects to implement and or upgrade Laboratory Information Systems including integration of same with upstream or downstream information systems via HL7 is mandatory.
- Demonstrated ability to elicit complex reporting requirements and reflect these requirements back in the form of detailed queries and reporting structures.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver working with geographically distributed team members is mandatory.
- Demonstrated ability to be successful in a part time capacity is mandatory.
- Demonstrated success delivering complex projects within fixed time-frames is mandatory.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills are mandatory.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: Up to $100.00 per hour

- Monday to Friday
