**Individualized Tutoring**: Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions for children with learning disabilities using the DOBI Reading Program, tailored to each student's unique needs and challenges. This involves using methods derived from Orton Gillingham, Barton, and Davis reading programs-- all training will be provided.
**Assessment**: Conduct initial assessments to identify students' reading levels, strengths, and areas requiring improvement. Regularly monitor and reassess progress to adjust the tutoring approach accordingly.
**Lesson Planning**: Develop and implement personalized lesson plans based on the DOBI Reading Program curriculum, incorporating multi-sensory teaching techniques and adaptive strategies to enhance learning outcomes.
**Progress Tracking**: Maintain detailed records of each student's progress, highlighting achievements and areas for improvement. Communicate progress reports regularly to parents.
**Collaboration**: Potentially collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals involved in the child's education to ensure a holistic and coordinated approach to the student's learning journey.
**Adaptability**: Stay informed about advancements in the field of education, learning disabilities, and specifically the DOBI Reading Program. Adjust tutoring methods based on evolving best practices and program updates.
**Motivation and Support**: Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment, providing emotional support to students facing challenges. Celebrate successes and instill a sense of confidence and self-esteem in each student.
**Feedback**: Regularly provide constructive feedback to students and their support network, offering guidance on additional resources, exercises, or techniques to reinforce learning outside of tutoring sessions.
**REQUIREMENTS**
**Education Experience**:A background of working with kids in an educational setting. Preferrably with an education or psychology degree (or degree in progress), however, not required.
**Communication**: Excellent communication skills to effectively convey progress, challenges, and strategies to parents, teachers, and other professionals involved in the student's education.
**Empathy**: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to empathize with the challenges faced by students with learning disabilities and create a supportive and understanding learning environment.
**Adaptability**: Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of individual students, staying current with best practices in education and reading intervention.
**Organization**: Excellent organizational skills to maintain accurate and detailed records of student progress and effectively plan and execute personalized lesson plans.
Any experience with working with kids with learning disabilities or teaching OG, Barton, or Davis methods is considered an asset, however, this is not required. DOBI will invest extensively in training you to get you up to speed.
Must have ability to get to work for your shifts on time.
Police/educational background check required before hiring.
**Job Type**: Part-time
**Salary**: $21.00-$23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 - 20 per week
