**The Opportunity**

The Shipping/Receiving Clerk is responsible for processing all necessary paperwork and inputting the appropriate data into the computer system to assist the Shipping Coordinator and Administrators.

**The Team**

The role will report to the Operations Manager.

**Responsibilities**
- Fill out paperwork, including invoices, bills of lading, customs papers, waybills, etc.
- Verify that all orders are shipped in full with no back orders
- Process month-end in a timely manner
- Establish and maintain good customer relations
- Schedule trucks and couriers to coincide with expected shipment of loads & LTL orders
- Receive and calculate rates for shipments
- Responsible for proper packaging and labelling of all LTL shipments
- Verify that all shipments are complete in conjunction with yard personnel
- Communicate shipping information to customers as required
- Confirm shipping orders
- Approve invoices for payment
- Identify material in accordance with appropriate Quality Assurance Procedures
- Update computer system with receiving information
- Initiate quality notifications for non-conforming material and update receiving activity assignments as required
- Coordinate inspection activities with inspection personnel
- Scan packing slips into the system and attach to the PO’s
- Coordinate inter-city carrier deliveries and receipts
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or vocational training is a plus. Post secondary education is an asset.
- 2 years Shipping/Receiving experience is considered an asset
- Excellent customer service skill and a strong team player
- Ability to handle multiple projects at once while working under a tight deadline
- Demonstrate attention to detail and ability to problem solve
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Familiarity with ERP or inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents, purchase orders, and part numbers.
- Ability to multi-task and execute a wide range of details and tasks quickly and effectively.
- Good judgement and problem-solving ability along with strong customer service and relationship building skills.
- Understanding of safety regulations, and basic lean manufacturing principles.
