The Assistant Chief Pilot will report to the Chief Pilot and assist the Chief Pilot in managing the following areas below;
**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and policies
- Assist with the development and implementation of all required approved training programs for the flight crews
- Draft, issue and manage compliance by pilots with directives and notices to the flight crews as required, including compliance with CARS and any additional regulatory obligations
- Determine the operational suitability and requirements of all aerodromes and routes served by the company
- Initiate action and distribute SMS reports dealing with flight crews and obligations of the same to comply with company policies and related duties
- Exercise administrative, managerial and supervisory control over pilots
- Monitor the performance of pilots
- Participate in interviewing, hiring and termination process of flight crew
- Liaise with all company departments and outside agencies as required
- Perform disciplinary actions as per Company Policy and Collective Bargaining Agreement
- Complete Chief Pilot duties as assigned
- Assist with collective bargaining negotiations and compliance with collective agreement obligations
- Assist in all assigned flight safety accident/incident investigations
- Perform line checks and flight duties as required
- Perform and uphold Wasaya’s Customer Care Commitments to both internal and external customers
- Any other related duties as assigned

**Skills and Qualifications**:
**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- 3 years Northern Operations experience is preferred
- 2 years’ experience as a Pilot in Command on 705 aircraft is preferred
- Current ATPL, Group 1 IFR
- Current PPC on an aircraft currently operated by Wasaya Airways
- Must have previous aviation supervisory experience
- Ability to plan and organize the activities of others
- Ability to maintain accurate and confidential records
- Able to travel on short notice; overnight and out of town
- Ability to communicate in Oji-Cree or Ojibway is an asset
- Applicants who possess a Canadian ATPL
- Applicants with two crew multi-engine turbine experience
- Graduates from an Aviation College degree or diploma program
- Applicants with commercial or military flight experience
- Applicants with Flight Management System (FMS) and/or glass cockpit experience

**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**:

- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
- Ability to lift to 30lbs
- Overtime as required
- Weekend work may be required
- Some travel will be required
- May be exposed to high levels of noise, dust, fumes, and oils
- Indoor and outdoor work is required
- Completion of a satisfactory criminal record check
