On a practical level, you will:

- Observe machine operation to detect any malfunctions
- Prepare green coffee beans for roasting
- Batch roast coffee beans and inspect regularly according to specifications
- Feed product to conveyors, hoppers, or other feeding devices, and unload product into bins
- Work with QA to adjust roast specifications
- Conduct regular cleaning and maintenance of roasting equipment
- Inspect for quality and accurate quantity at all times
- Monitor roasting process to identify needed adjustments or repairs, such as opening valves, changing forming and cutting blades, setting guides, and cleaning away damaged product
- Receive information from production schedules and batch tickets
- Prepare inventory transfer documentation
- Perform quality control checks at specified intervals and provide samples to Quality Assurance
- Report food safety problems and or quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate actions
- Responsible for GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), food safety and quality, and being aware of SQF (Safe Quality Food) System Program.

- High school diploma required
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs will be required regularly;
- Work well in group problem-solving situations
- Ability to write clearly and informatively
- Ability to read and interpret written information
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness in all areas of work
