CIMA+’s Infrastructure team combines top-notch skills with an intimate understanding of the local community to deliver customized infrastructure services for municipalities and real-estate developers. We support clients from start to finish, whether for building brand new or assessing, repairing, and expanding on existing infrastructure.
We are seeking a **Hydraulic Modeler** with experience building and calibrating hydraulic models for municipal infrastructure (water and wastewater) projects. This is an exciting opportunity to lead projects and contribute to innovative solutions that make a difference. Ideally, you’ll be based in Calgary, but you could be working 2 days /week from any of our major offices in Western Canada or Ontario.
**What You’ll Be Doing**:
- Lead the development of conceptual designs and engineering solutions for municipal water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
- Perform technical assessments of existing water and wastewater systems, including capacity analysis and identifying areas for upgrades or optimization.
- Utilize advanced hydraulic modeling tools such as WaterCAD, SewerGEMS, or similar software to prepare and refine designs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
- Mentor others and provide technical leadership on project delivery.
- Ensure designs comply with municipal, provincial, and industry standards.
- Liaise with municipalities, regulators, clients and other agencies

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
- 5+ years of experience in hydraulic modeling for municipal clients, with a focus on water and wastewater system design.
- Expertise in hydraulic modeling software, including WaterCAD, SewerGEMS, PCSWWM or similar.
- Proficiency in GIS software, with the ability to integrate GIS data into engineering analyses an asset.
- Strong understanding of municipal engineering standards and design principles for water and wastewater systems.
- Experience with QA/QC practices and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively, both in writing and verbally.
- Proven track record of managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a collaborative environment.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D for drafting and design is an asset.
- Familiarity with land development and municipal infrastructure projects in Alberta an asset.
