Art and Technology Instructor

**About Us**:
The instructor will lead a workshop that incorporates AI, Programming, and Media Arts. The workshop will culminate in the completion of a project that will stand out in our students’ portfolios and inspire their futures (e.g. the coding and fabrication of an interactive art installation with robotics). We’re looking for someone who has a relevant creative body of work. In addition to inspiring our students, the instructor may also deepen their own artistic practice.

The workshop will take place at Young Guns Studio between April-May 2025 over the course of 5-7 sessions. Each session is 2-3 hours. Classes will take place after school hours on weekdays and/or on weekends. Around 5-10 students will be enrolled in the workshop. Our students are mostly grade 10-12. If you have a great idea for a workshop that requires different parameters, like more time to carry out a more complicated project, tell us about it in your cover letter.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop the workshop curriculum; incorporate AI, Programming, and Media Arts.
- Lead a creative project that prepares art students for a world of AI — centering human skills that AI can't replace, while also developing toolkits to stay on top of, and implement, AI.
- Foster a supportive and stimulating learning environment.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in the intersection of art and technology, and integrate new insights into the curriculum.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Software, Electronics, Fine Arts, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience with highschool students.
- Strong knowledge of programming, AI, robotics, and fabrication techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

**Compensation**: $50 - $80 per hour (Commensurate with experience)

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 1-2 months

Pay: $50.00-$80.00 per hour
