Full Time Maintenance**Raven Inn Whitehorse** - Whitehorse, YT - Full Time**Duration** - Permanent**Intended job posting audience**At Raven Inn & Suites, we don't just want an employee who can "fix things and "plaster" on a smile, we want someone who will treat our hotel like their own and work together with our awesome existing team If you can do that all while making a guests' day, you're halfway there Read on to see if you think you would be a fit for the rest **Responsibilities**: - Maintain a safe and clean facility by patrolling grounds, walks, and parking lots, and taking appropriate action when hazards exist. - Provide outdoor property maintenance - Maintain and keep all of our hotel and kitchen equipment in excellent working order. - Keep sidewalks and steps clear of snow and ice - Maintain outdoor lighting, replacing bulbs when needed - Some janitorial duties - Store equipment safely in designated areas - Respond at all times in a friendly, helpful manner to guests and colleagues - Continuously monitor hotel rooms and fix minor maintenance issues immediately - Arrange for routine maintenance in hotel rooms, lobbies and facilities - Organize repair projects in a manner that does not disturb guests - Act fast to resolve emergency issues (e.g. power outages) - Lend a hand to some of us that just can't lift a lot of weight **Requirements**: - Proven experience as in hotel Maintenance or Property Management - In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations - Familiarity with plumbing, electrical, sewer and HVAC systems; hotel industry experience is a plus - High school diploma or equivalent; degree from a vocational school or BSc/BA in Facility Management is preferred - Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length - Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, throughout the shift - Must be able to kneel, bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks - Must be able to work independently and as a team player - Ability to spot safety risks and address needs quickly - Problem-solving aptitude - Excellent organizational and leadership skills **Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**: - High School Diploma or Grade 12 equivalent - Must be able to read charts & follow checklists - Able to complete work in given time frame - Attention to detail & excellent prioritizing skills - Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and cleaning chemicals - Experience in hospitality or janitorial an asset - A combination of education, training and coursework may be considered to fill this position Wage is based on experience
