Estimator and Proposal Writer

As an Estimator/Proposal Writer your job will be to execute a variety of tasks and projects that are integral to the operation of the organization. You will be accountable for managing your day-to-day workload, the execution of your tasks and projects. You will be responsible for coordinating and reporting the progress of execution of tasks and projects with the PMO team.
**Responsibilities**:
- Conducts detailed analysis of contract documents and specifications to determine overall project requirements.
- Develop, review, and assist in quantity take-offs, the development of project estimates/schedules and production of proposals.
- Manage the proposal writing process and coordinate the preparation of all documents and components required as part of the bid process.
- Manage all aspects of the bidding process, evaluate estimates for potential risks, finalize and compile tender documents for review and submission.
- Analyze, plan, and develop responses to RFPs, RFQs etc.
- Attend and participate in site visits/meetings.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals including the researching, compiling, and summarizing of data in accordance with the established procedures.
- Assist in the compilation of information from all estimating disciplines into one cost estimate.
- Work closely with other project stakeholders to ensure the quality, consistency, and integrity of all deliverables.
- Support and collaborate with other members of the project team in the development of cost estimates and project schedules.
- Review and understand design specifications to determine total scope of work and associated costs as it pertains to the development of a cost estimate and schedule.
- Writing, editing and proof-reading proposals to ensure they align with DPM guidelines, policies and standards.
- Identify/escalate any issues that may impact the proposals schedule or quality.
- Ensure estimates align with execution and cost management requirements.
- Manage all deadlines.
- Report to Chief Business Officer
Minimum Requirements:
- Comprehensive knowledge of MS Office tools Proficiency in Adobe Creative suite knowledge will be considered an asset.
- Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent interpersonal abilities and a willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude with Strong collaboration skills
- 2 years relevant experience including involvement in the proposal process.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the estimate process
- Post-Secondary Diploma in a related field
