**Position Overview**:
We are currently looking for a **Machine Assembler** who will be responsible for assembly and testing of custom machinery for the plastic industry, while ensuring quality and the ability to meet production requirements.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
- Assemble a variety of machinery and equipment by reading blueprints, bills of material and work traveler.
- Operate hand tools and portable powered hand tools.
- Troubleshoot mechanical problems on mechanical sub-assemblies and main machine assembly by using problem solving techniques.
- Use measuring tools to meet tolerances.
- Provide updates to engineering department so drawings can be changed to reflect changes made during the assembly process.
- Inform supervisor or engineering dept. if something does not look right or it does not make sense.
- Inspect and test assemblies for conformance to specifications on assembly drawings.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Maintain positive and productive working relationships with supervisor, other shop workers, and engineering staff.
**Qualifications**:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform required duties satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
**Basic Requirements**:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a machine assembler and/or mechanic and/or possess millwright license.
- Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems and tools.
- Experience with machine shop equipment and mechanical systems.
- Good knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes and experience with industrial machine build/repair.
- Understanding of basic electrical systems.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good problem solving techniques.
