Niagara College, Toronto Programs is a public college-private partnership between Niagara College Canada (NC) and TSoM, with academic delivery and student support services managed by TSoM.

**Primary Purpose**

The Academic Assistant plays an essential academic role in program sustainability and student success. The Academic Assistant is expected to perform duties of the position within established policies and procedures and according to an established calendar of events, under mínimal supervision, but will receive instructions from the Academic Support and Scheduling Manager. The Academic Assistant is expected to be part of an effective team concerned with all aspects of our programs.

**Working Conditions**

This Academic Assistant will be expected to work on-campus **Tuesday
- Saturday, 12:30 pm-9:30 pm**

**Specific Responsibilities**
- Provide guidance and advice to students and faculty in an efficient manner.
- Assist in managing the Learning Management System.
- Assist the Scheduling Manager with on-site room planning and scheduling postings.
- Communicate ongoing updates during the night shift to team members.
- Support students and faculty regarding technical issues in the classroom
- Assist with various administrative duties as needed including but not limited to, printing, filing, organizing online files, and so on.
- Maintains instructor and teaching support data current in various systems.
- Respond to general inquiries regarding the educational programs and forward questions or concerns as necessary.
- Perform other duties as required.

**Position Requirements**
- College Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1- 2 years’ administrative experience in a post-secondary educational setting

**Skills and Competencies**:

- High level of ethics, diplomacy, and confidentiality
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in Canvas or similar Student Learning Platforms
- High attention to detail, organization, and accuracy
- Positive collaboration with students, faculty, and staff
- Good problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
