Mechanical Bim Modeller

GHD is looking for a **Mechanical BIM Modeler **to join our Ontario Regional Design Center, located in **Calgary **. This position will support the Mechanical Engineering group for multi-discipline projects in various industries.
- Produce and develop schematics and BIM models for mechanical process and building systems (plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning)
- Check layouts of mechanical systems for interference with other building components.
- Coordinate work with related disciplines and interact with designers and engineers from other disciplines to deliver projects.
- Develop detailed design and contract documents including BIM models, dimensioned plans, sections, details, and equipment schedules.
- Engage in the development of office BIM procedures and standards and facilitate their implementation into projects;
- Communicate and work with multi-discipline project team members to provide quality service to clients to ensure that all documentation conforms to client/company standards;
- Design and problem solving using standard engineering methods.

**Required Skills, Competencies and Qualifications**:

- Engineering Technology Certificate from a recognized academic institution is a requirement with interest in the field of mechanical systems and services
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in related mechanical systems modelling
- Must have Revit or similar BIM modeling software experience with a proven ability to manage multi discipline models
- Familiarity with Plant3D and P&ID is an asset
- Familiarity with Ontario Building Codes and Fire Codes is an asset
- Experience in ProjectWise or similar software would be an asset
- Willingness to learn and ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and work independently. May need to take the lead on projects where mechanical systems are a significant component.
- Must be self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills;
- Excellent organization and time management skills with ability to work in a complex environment often driven by project deadlines;
