**Payroll and Benefits Administrator**
Working under the direction of the Senior Compensation and Benefit Specialist, the Payroll and Benefit Administrator supports the bi-weekly full cycle payroll process. They are also responsible for the daily management of the accurate, timely and confidential preparation of employee information in compliance with legislation and company policies.
With a strong knowledge of payroll, you pride yourself on your excellent communication skills and your ability to meet deadlines. You understand the importance of accuracy and have a proven track record of processing an accurate payroll every pay. You are service minded and consistently deliver a high quality, professional service.
Skills and Qualification:
- High degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality
- Advanced organizational and time management skills
- Able to meet strict deadlines while handling multiple demands simultaneously
- Knowledge and understanding of payroll legislation and maintain compliance across various provinces (NB, NS, NF, PE, ON, AB, and BC)
- Ability to multi-task while prioritizing work with many competing priorities
- Answer payroll and benefit questions in a timely manner
**Requirements**:
- Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll for Graybar Canada
- Bi-weekly payroll reconciliations
- Generate monthly reports for accounting
- Assist with payroll audits
- Process employees’ deductibles (share program, tuition reimbursement, computer loans, gym membership, etc.)
- Process reversal and manual payroll adjustments.
- Process final payments, severance agreements, ROEs, and ROE web
- Enroll employees in group insurance and RRSP plans within applicable deadlines, and update plans with any employee changes
- Process special payments such as: commissions, bonuses, profit sharing and other forms of compensation
- Prepare third party remittances (CRA, Provincial Workers’ Compensation, Manulife Employee and Employer RRSP contributions, etc.)
- Support year end processes (T4, T4A, T2200’s, Provincial WCB Filings)
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll/benefit issues or concerns.
- Maintain employees’ files
- Assist with other Human Resources or payroll duties when necessary
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Degree or Diploma in Business, Administration, or equivalent experience considered an asset.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation or other Payroll Certification
- 2-3 years payroll processing experience
- Experience with multi-provincial payroll an asset
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Exceptional English language writing and grammar skills.
- French language an asset
