**Who we are?** We are a leader in First Nation Health. Our foundation is Indigenous Health in Indigenous Hands. We provide accessible, quality, culturally safe and holistic health care that supports and enhances the wellness of individuals, families, and communities. We work with our 11 First Nation community partners and the IFC in the provision of primary health care, traditional healing, mental wellness and addictions, home and community support services, and health promotion services.

**The opportunity**: An employee in this role provides direct care to individuals in group homes or residential settings, assisting with daily living skills, personal care and household tasks while fostering a supportive environment. Will also provide a culturally safe and compassionate, Trauma Informed support to Indigenous clients engaged in mental health and addictions treatment programs. This role supports clients through their well-being journey by assisting in daily routines, implementing culturally rooted programs and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, elders and staff.

The Position promotes holistic indigenous wellness principles and ensures a safe, respectful and nurturing environment while maintaining appropriate documentation and support strategies.

**What you need to bring with you**:

- Diploma or certificate in Social Work, Addictions, Indigenous Wellness, or a related field.
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working with Indigenous communities, residential or land-based healing programs, or in mental health/addictions settings.
- Lived experience with recovery and /or traditional healing practices considered an asset.
- Valid First Aid/CPR and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience working with Indigenous people, organizations, and communities.
- Knowledge and experience of Anishinabek Health and Traditional healing practices.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- A clear criminal reference check is a condition of employment.
- Must have access to a reliable vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license.

**What to expect?** Given the traditional practices of Indigenous people, from time-to-time exposure to smoke from the burning of sacred medicines such as tobacco, sweet grass, sage or cedar may occur.
