Reporting to the VP of Research and Innovation, this is a full time position working 35 hours per week. Annual salary range is $87,433 - $109,292.

**Specific Accountabilities**:
Operations Management
- Staffing contract support and HR operational management including staffing communication, workload tracking and balance, pay grid and role assessment, progression, and internal policy, external contract development and renewals.
- Advocate on behalf of atypical structure requirements of Research and Innovation with respect to HR, Finance, IT, and Facilities.
- Provides staffing support and guidance to managers, coordinators and senior researchers.
- Conceptualize and advance financial process development and management.
- Build standard operating procedures and guidelines for grant management (agreements, finance, eligibility).
- Lead and support the establishment of data tracking and project management process.
- Establish, track and manage performance goal achievement.
- Contribute to the development of operational plans supporting higher level College initiatives (ie. Commercialization Plan, EDI, Innovation Strategy, Experiential Learning, Staff Engagement).
- Agreement and contract development, negotiation and management (IP, Confidentiality, Collaboration, NDA etc).
- Manage project tracking processes and tools.
- Lead implementation of automation processes and tools across operation units within the
- Research and Innovation department.
- Serve as repository for collective agreement related knowledge, practices and support bargaining unit related issues (grievances, leaves).
- Coordinate purchasing, negotiation and scheduling with the facilities and IT departments.

Innovation Institute and Research Contracts
- Project Management for micro-credential and grant-based projects for both Innovation Institute and core Research units - Review funded project proposals, funding contracts and lead development planning process. Establish responsibilities, track project process, engage project participants, and be the point person of accountability.
- Budget Development - Support in the building of base budget structure, track, reconcile, and support project coordinator. Interface with finance department on rectifying issues and justifications.
- Support Grant Writing through participation in conceptualization of new projects, identifying and pursuing partnerships, drafting elements of grant, developing budget and justification including backup, and participating in draft grant reviews.
- Contract Negotiation - Support the development of agreements with partners and stakeholders as required. Review and comment upon funding agreements and negotiate terms and deliverables as required.
- Reporting - Review agreements and map out deliverables, key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting expectations of funding agency. Prospectively create metric collecting methodologies to support reporting. Coordinate the drafting and submission of financial and activity reporting.
- Financial Management - Prospectively plan and reactively adapt expenditures and allocation in alignment with larger Research and Innovation department budget.
- HR Administration - Provide support for recruitment, hiring, documentation, payroll, verification and audit of staffing in alignment with college and granting policies.

Management of Civic Lab and Dev Shop Projects
- Project Management - Establish deliverables, timelines, resources required and engage stakeholders.
- Budget development - Determine scope of project, resources required, costing and revenue sources. Track budget during development to ensure alignment and account for deviations.
- Contract Development and Negotiation - Determine scope and negotiate roles and interest in the project. Establish revenue/cost sharing models and draft supporting contracts.
- Staff Planning - Estimate staffing resources, hire, and manage staff for Civic Lab and Dev Shop projects while considering larger staffing needs of Research and Innovation.
- Relationship Management - Lead working groups of Civic Lab and Dev Shop to identify viable projects, establish funding models, and communicate status and deliverables.

Corporate Training
- Management - Provide oversight to operational support for implementing corporate training projects. Ensure that projects are costed, scoped, scheduled and delivered upon.
- Project Development - Consider the capabilities of Research and Innovation, and available relationships to identify opportunities for corporate training. Build project proposals, negotiate terms and deliverables, and develop contracts for service.
- Project Execution - Communicate project plan to stakeholders, identify needs for execution, initiate all elements of execution including instructors, facilities, equipment, handbooks, and sourcing of materials. Execution extends beyond completion to obtaining feedback on experience, remediation of training, invoicing and collections.
