**CORE AREA PATROL (Customer Care & Ambassador)**

**DOWNTOWN MAPLE RIDGE BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT ASSOCIATION**

The Downtown Maple Ridge Business Improvement Association is a non-profit organization. Our Mission is “to create a prosperous destination that is clean, safe and vibrant, where a diverse community of businesses and residents live, work and play”

The CAP staff member reports directly to the executive Director. CAP staff member is responsible for promoting a cleaner, friendlier, and safer downtown through a variety of duties and responsibilities.

**Main Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Keep the downtown area free of litter & debris, report graffiti, open dumpsters etc.
- Provide information to tourists and locals alike.
- ICBC Auto-crime prevention initiatives.
- Act as a “goodwill ambassador” to all downtown residents and visitors by passing out informational pamphlets and answering shopping/tourist related questions.
- Assist other BIA Team members with downtown events and festivals.
- Develop and build relationships with DMRBIA business members.
- Deliver posters/other materials to merchants; collect payments for promotions, advertising, etc
- Complete crime prevention tasks and act as an additional set of eyes and ears on the street.
- Other duties as directed by the Executive Director and/or Events Coordinator, Administrative Assistant.

**Skills, Knowledge, or Experience needed**:

- Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills in a variety of situations.
- Good knowledge of DMRBIA area, to provide accurate information and directions.
- Good health and physical fitness; position requires significant walking each day (other possible tasks may include lifting, painting, litter collection, gardening, etc).
- Strong interpersonal and team working skills.
- Enthusiastic, outgoing, and pleasant attitude.
- Self-motivated, independent & responsible - majority of work may be unsupervised.
- Computer skills and ability to complete regular reports
- Social Media skills; ability to produce mini business promo (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc)

**Terms**:

- Start Date: To be determined
- 35 - 40 hrs/ wk, Mon - Fri. position will include some evening and /or weekend shifts as necessary.
- Wage: $17 - 19/hr. DOE

NO phone calls.

**Salary**: $17.00-$19.00 per hour
