Plant Manager

We currently have a permanent opportunity for a Plant Manager, reporting to the Director of Operations.
The Plant Manager will be primarily accountable for overseeing and providing leadership to the manufacturing facility and ensure efficient, cost effective and timely production to achieve customer satisfaction, company profitability and growth while maintaining quality of products to the highest level.
Work is done within an office environment and includes some travel and extended working hours.
This position will be located at our Toronto location.

**Responsibilities**:
- Direct and coordinate daily operations of the manufacturing plant
- Schedule production work orders and maintain a production schedule
- Ensure work orders are completed within established timelines and budgets
- Oversee all levels of production staff activity and performance
- Responsible for ensuring the facility and grounds are in order and maintained as required
- Ensure company policies and procedures are always followed
- Identify staff requirements, screen, interview, and manage the onboarding process of new hires
- Provide training, guidance, and educational materials to staff as necessary
- Monitor, repair and replace plant equipment as needed
- Development and management of departmental goals in support of corporate objectives
- Capital project and equipment planning and purchasing for the department
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
- 5+ years’ experience in plant operations
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience, refrigeration experience is considered an asset
- Good understanding of regulatory requirements for operating plants
- Strong leadership and managerial attributes
- Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical manufacturing drawings
- Ability to work under pressure and motivate others to meet tight deadlines
- Proven record of achieving results by taking initiative and being decisive
- Exceptional planning and time management skills
- Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong aptitude for root cause analysis and troubleshooting operational issues
- Lean Six sigma with a focus on 5S and organization
- Focus on continuous improvement
