The Education Facilitator is responsible for the development and delivery of all education programs for the Marine Life Department, working closely with the Education Presenter and the Animal Care department.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Participating in the implementation of education programs, managing large groups of students, facilitating classes and activities for students.
- Assisting with daily set up for classes and education programs, and focus all course activities on serving the needs and goals of the client or course curriculum.
- Taking course bookings, confirm courses with customers along with providing course information to clients and liaison with existing groups on an ongoing basis.
- Delivering presentations, monitoring touch pools and ambassador Sea Lion Shows.
- Liaising with Education Partnership consultants and schools on course delivery and methods on attracting customers.
- Assisting with planning of trade shows, research and creating educational props for use in courses.
- Assisting with planning and delivery of spring Adventure Camps.
- Assisting the Education Supervisor in the preparation of the Marine Life Education budget and maintaining a school/group data base.
- Other responsibilities as required.

**Desired Qualifications**:

- Completion of a post-secondary degree in education or related teaching course.
- Working knowledge of the Alberta Educational system and ability to develop courses for the Alberta Education curriculum standards.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, a professional demeanor and a high level of confidence in the workplace.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point with the ability to easily learn different software programs.
- Valid Class 5 Alberta Drivers’ License and able to provide a clear Driver’s Abstract.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR certificate, or the willingness to attend training.

**Terms of Employment**:

- This is full-time position that requires flexible availability Monday through Sunday including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- This position works in a busy mall environment primarily at attractions and in a classroom setting, as well as some city travelling to deliver educational courses.
- Valid Class 5 Alberta Drivers’ License and able to provide a clear Driver’s Abstract.
- Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.

**Job Types**: Permanent, Full-time

**Salary**: $18.80 per hour
