We are looking for a Labour Relations Advisor to join our team. Under the general direction of the Senior Labour Relations Advisor,
advice to staff within the HR community and management across the enterprise. The position will also establish, foster, and maintain
a collaborative work environment between management and the bargaining units on a wide array of items such as joint
labour/management activities, collective bargaining, jurisdictional matters, grievance/arbitration, and collective agreement and policy
administration.

**_ Responsibilities:_**
- Provide expert and strategic advice to drive enterprise decision-making and provide recommendations on complex employee

and labour relations matters, ensuring compliance with labour law, employment standards, the Human Rights Code, collective
agreements, corporate policy, and other applicable legislation.
- Responsible for soliciting feedback and obtaining buy-in from the bargaining units on change management initiatives to

support the implementation of enterprise objectives and strategies.
- Lead administration of the internal grievance process: develop strategy, prepare corporate responses, and recommend

potential resolutions. Act as a key advisor to legal counsel at arbitration and MLB proceedings.
- Support the collective bargaining process: contribute to collective bargaining strategy, draft, review, and modify proposals,

document agreements, draft collective agreement language, and communicate/implement negotiated changes.
- Provide expert labour relations advice, guidance, and input into complex misconduct investigations. Ensure standard

investigative principles are followed and develop sound, well-reasoned, and defensible discipline recommendations that take
into consideration all relevant information and represent and protect long-term enterprise interests. May also be required to
conduct workplace investigations as required.
- Responsible for consistent interpretation of collective agreements and corporate policies, promoting consistent labour

relations practices across the enterprise.
- Collaborate with Legal Services to develop legal documents, including last chance agreements, accommodation agreements,

minutes of settlement, and general releases, including coordinating the implementation of agreement terms.
- Develop and foster collaborative labor/management relations and approaches to conflict management and problem-solving.
- Recommend, develop, and/or amend current human resource policies to reflect changing organizational needs and contribute
- to the continuous improvement of labour relations systems and practices.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to resolve bargaining unit jurisdictional disputes, ensuring compliance with labour
- board certificates, and support the implementation of business initiatives that have jurisdictional implications.
- Develop and deliver educational training sessions for human resources, management, and supervisory staff.

**_ Qualifications:_**
- A four-year Bachelor of Commerce Degree (HR Major) and five years of directly related experience.

OR
- A two-year Business Diploma (HR) and seven years of directly related experience.

OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation would be an asset.
- In-depth understanding of, and experience administering, grievances, workplace investigations, progressive corrective
- discipline, and collective bargaining processes.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Labour Laws, Employment Standards, and the Human Rights Code.
- Demonstrated understanding of the strategic, legal, and political implications and influences on labour relations practices,
- processes, and policies.
- corporate policy, precedent, and past practice.
- Proven integrity and ability to build effective working relationships with bargaining unit representatives, HR colleagues, and all
