Duration: May to September

Schedule: 30-40 hrs a week (full time)

**Requirements**:

- Wind sports experience with an understanding of kite safety
- Pleasure craft operator card and experience driving boats and jet skis
- Seamanship skills to confidently operate a boat in strong wind and waves
- Current First Aid & CPR (or equivalent) certification
- Be able to carry 50 lbs for short distances
- Enthusiastic, professional, proactive, and demonstrates ability to champion the SWS’s mission
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

**Additional Preferred Skills**
- IKO levels or experience teaching windsports an asset
- SVOP or Pleasure Craft Operator’s Card and Boat Safety course
- An understanding of Howe Sound tides, weather, and navigation
- Restricted Radiotelephone Operator's Certificate (ROC (m))
- Additional Languages

**Responsibilities**:

- Operate jet skis to retrieve members.
- Operate inflatable rib to shuttle members to and from Pepahím Island.
- Check in members and ensure all users have purchased a pass.
- Orientate new users on SWS operations and Howe Sound sailing.
- Record data to gauge required metrics (retrievals, member visits, first aid, maintenance records).
- Foster an environment that promotes member safety both on and off the water
- Ensure proper upkeep of all SWS assets including daily responsibilities such as completing a logbook, performing the required engine checks (fuel, oil, coolant flush), and spraying down the inflatable with freshwater to clean sand and debris at the end of the day.

Complete routine maintenance activities to facility areas such as removing trash, cleaning the outhouse, clearing the mats of debris, and general tidying to keep Pepahím Island organised and safe for members.

Contract length: 7 months

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week

Schedule:

- Every Weekend
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- On call

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- windsport: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- SVOP (preferred)
- ROC(m) (preferred)
- First Aid Certification (preferred)
