**The Role**
You are a connector, a mentor, and a champion for women seeking new opportunities. As an Indigenous Employment Readiness Advisor with Women Building Futures (WBF), your role goes beyond outreach—it is about fostering trust, breaking barriers, and equipping women with the tools they need to thrive in the trades and commercial transportation.
**_ This position is a hybrid work model with 50% travel expected to outlined communities. This is a full-time permanent position._**

- **Coaching & Support**: You can identify barriers to employment and provide culturally informed guidance to help women navigate challenges. You listen deeply, offer practical solutions, and advocate for success.
- **Organization & Coordination**: You can juggle travel, events, applicant support, and documentation with precision. Your time management and organizational skills ensure every woman who comes through WBF feels seen and supported.
- **Cultural Awareness & Inclusion**: You recognize the diversity of Indigenous identities and experiences. You create safe spaces where women feel valued, heard, and respected in their journey toward economic security.
- **Adaptability & Problem-Solving**: You are innovative in your approach, willing to learn, and open to trying new strategies that strengthen recruitment and readiness initiatives.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Promote WBF’s mission and values, fostering inclusive and respectful environments.
- Support the WBF Readiness Strategy and play a key role in connecting women with training that leads to life changing employment.
- Represent and promote WBF by travelling within Alberta and connecting with Indigenous communities and prospective applicants to provide information about WBF (e.g. career fairs, information sessions, and other events).
- Schedule, coordinate and facilitate events such as information sessions and workshops around pre-employment skill building.
- Provide support for applicants facing barriers to training or employment.
- Document client follow-ups and records in accordance with Customer Relationship Management system requirements.
- Facilitate and provide leadership for the development and implementation of action plans to enhance client success.
- Develop best practices and contribute to continuous improvement of readiness and recruitment processes; willingness to learn and try different approaches.
- Create relationships with community support providers to maintain a network of referral opportunities.
- Serve clients with knowledge of local supports and resources for referral as needed.
- Develop a strong network in community, enabling WBF to connect women to programming and training opportunities.
- Educate and encourage women regarding opportunities and challenges in non-traditional trades/occupations.

- High level of personal integrity and commitment to putting the WBF Mission and Values of Women Building Futures into action.
- Knowledge and direct experience in engaging with Indigenous communities and the ability to successfully engage with Indigenous peoples.
- A community connector who is interested in building and nurturing relationships and strengthening a network that includes community organizations focused on youth, women and training for employment connections.
- Excellent service and public relations skills to connect with people and community organizations; knowledge of local resources.
