Motor Patrol Guard

**Job Summary Temporary 6 months to Permanent**

First aid certification is required.

**Shifts**

*_Schedules are based off of a mandatory two-week rotation_
- 530pm to 530am _

Must be able to commit to the assigned schedule consisting of:

- Rotate through 12 hour shifts evenings and nights. Must be availableweeknights, weekends and statutory holidays.

**Responsibilities**:

- Protect company’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
- Interact regularly with the public with importance on good customer service and public relations.
- Conduct regular motor patrol duties by visiting various sites.
- Perform regular foot patrol of any interiors and exteriors necessary.
- Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences.
- Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates.
- Watch alarm systems or video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment.
- Access control for the facility/area.
- Ensuring that the facility’s safety and emergency procedures are followed in response to site emergencies.
- Demonstrating judgement, common sense, and decision-making ability, particularly when required to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other incidents.
- Perform parking tagging procedure where assigned.

**Skills**:

- Use of force training (preferred).
- Proven work experience as a security guard or relevant position.
- Trained Security Guard with a diploma in a related field.
- Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.
- Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
- Surveillance skills and detail orientation.
- Integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to operate security equipment/systems, computers, radios, phones.
- Meticulous record keeping, report writing, observation skills.
- **Full G class driver's license with 3 + years of driving experience.**

**Qualifications**:

- 3-5 years Canadian driving experience with a G license.
- Clean driving record (an abstract will be required).
- 3 years security experience preferably in a mobile patrol position.
- Minimum of double vaccination.

**Duties**
- Monitor and patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect signs of intrusion or suspicious activity.
- Operate and maintain CCTV systems and other surveillance equipment to ensure comprehensive coverage of the premises.
- Conduct regular inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify potential security risks or hazards.
- Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, or emergencies, coordinating with law enforcement or emergency services as necessary.
- Prepare detailed reports on security incidents, observations, and activities during shifts.
- Enforce facility rules and regulations while providing assistance to staff and visitors when needed.
- Collaborate with team members to develop strategies for loss prevention and enhance overall security measures.

**Qualifications**
- Proven experience in loss prevention or security roles is preferred.
- Familiarity with CCTV systems and surveillance techniques is highly desirable.
- Previous law enforcement experience is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong observational skills with the ability to remain alert and focused for extended periods.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively report incidents and interact with others.
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by company policies.
