A new Indian Restaurant is looking for a responsible and hard-working member to join our kitchen team.
Experience of 1+ years in Indian cuisine is a **must**.
Job Duties Include by are not limited to:
The applicant should be a team worker, punctual, proactive, outgoing, and dependable, and be required to perform the following tasks:
- Prepare assigned food items by methods / procedures under the direction of a Chef
- Prepare assigned food items by following established menus, recipes, and quantity quotas
- Plan quantities of ingredients required and assemble ingredients and equipment for cooking
- Participate in the preparation and cooking schedule to meet established standards
- Prepare quality food within established production timeframes
- Cook and season assigned food items such as soups, sauces, meats, fish, poultry, and vegetables.
- Test food items for palatability and temperature and adjust accordingly
- Cook using a Tandoor
- Maintain a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Minimum 1-2 years experience or related training
- Knowledge of operating a tandoor oven is a **must**
- Experience working on the line, deep fryers and grills
- Developed food preparation skills
- Able to read, understand and follow recipes
- Can work at speed under pressure in an organized manner
- Ability to work with or without supervision
- Smart Serve Certification
- Food Handling Safety Certification
- WHMIS knowledge and observance
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 - 45 per week
Schedule:
- Every Weekend
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
**Experience**:
- Food preparation: 1 year (required)
- Kitchen experience: 1 year (required)
Licence/Certification:
- Food Handler Certification (required)
- Smart Serve (required)
Work Location: In person
