Our programs and services include employment services, supportive housing and homeless outreach, temporary shelter services, literacy programs and outreach, immigrant services, adult and family on-demand support. We also provide community leadership and development in overdose response planning, poverty reduction planning, and other projects that develop a more connected and resilient community. Lift operates many resource centres in our community, including the local WorkBC Centre, the Community Resource Centre, the Family Place, and the Dr. Elsie Paul Literacy Centre and the Nook Social Enterprise Cafe both located at the Powell River Public Library.

**The Position**

In this role, you will provide support and basic life skills to individuals facing multiple barriers. You will look out for the security and well-being of program participants and their living environment by providing crisis response, overdose response, and home support. You value genuine inclusivity and believe that we as a community, are ethically accountable for the health and wellness of all who live here. Shifts are available at both Supportive Housing and the Shelter.

**Overview**
- Hours: Day shifts (8am-8pm) and/or night shifts (8pm-8am)
- Hourly Wage: $23.15 per hour (day shifts) or $25.15 per hour (night shifts)
- Job Type: Casual
- Reports to: Housing Services Manager
- Start Date: As soon as possible
- Closing Date: Until filled

**Qualifications and Lived Experience**
- Familiar with local community resources
- Basic understanding of street culture
- Ethically aligned with Harm-Reduction practices
- Demonstrated ability to perform home support
- Reliable, responsive, and supportive team member
- Demonstrates excellent communication and active listening skills
- Demonstrates concise and ethical documenting skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain client confidentiality
- Demonstrates professional boundaries
- Demonstrates understanding of emergency response protocol
- Ability to remain alert and perform tasks in a demanding environment
- Ability to remain calm and responsive during crisis incident response
- Contributes to a culturally safe environment
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20lbs and walk 3 flights of stairs throughout shift
