Description Overview

Activate Games is Canada’s first full-scale interactive gaming facility, and we are looking to expand our build team with a Traveling Carpenter that is willing to travel across Canada to help our expansion nationwide. You will work on a rotational basis, with rotations varying depending on the location worked. Travel from your home to site, as well as accommodation and per diem, will be provided at the Company’s expense.

This is a full-time position and you will be reporting to the on-site construction manager and project manager.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Fabricate and install framework to match project layout including wood and metal walls
- Read blueprints and lead team to follow the designs
- Installation of doors around the facility
- Install drywall, potentially at heights
- Inspect work done by team members to ensure quality is being upheld
- Aid in guiding and organizing less experience carpenters and labourers
- Organizing and unloading materials, as required
- Keeping the site clean and managing tool/supply inventory
- Other tasks and duties as assigned, such as installing flooring

QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of previous experience as Lead Carpenter
- Must be able and willing to travel by air to locations throughout Canada for a minimum of 28 weeks a year
- Steel toed boots are required
- Strong attendance record is a must
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instruction
- Reliable personal transportation is required
- Experience with power and hand tools is required
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. consistently
- Must be able to stand and lift consistently for up to 8 hours
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

OTHER ASSETS
- Previous experience working at heights is considered an asset
- First Aid certification is considered an asset
- Willingness to learn new skills is strongly considered an asset
