**Job Summary**

Once fully trained and competent, the Operations Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring that all operational tasks are executed efficiently, and supporting the Operations, Maintenance and Management teams. The incumbent is expected to observe, analyze, and implement cost savings and operational efficiencies, while managing, retaining, and building a high performing personnel team. The Operations Supervisor must ensure continuous improvement is at the forefront of all activities while guaranteeing industry and corporate safety, values and ethics are upheld.

This is a challenging role that requires strong leadership, effective verbal and written communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills, and a willingness to go the extra mile to ensure success. The Operations Supervisor must have a strong focus on continuous improvement, safety, as well as employee and customer satisfaction. It is an expectation that the person filling this role is willing to do what is necessary, when necessary, to achieve maximum results.

**Experience**
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management or supervisory role within mining or industrial environment.
- Proven experience in managing personnel, budgets, and operational functions.
- Experience in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of industry regulations and guidelines.
- Experience with project and asset management, and scheduling.
- Ability to analyze data and develop reports with recommendations.

**Education**

Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field preferred, equivalent work experience may be considered.

**Working Conditions**

This position works both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions and may require working in confined spaces or at heights over extended hours. This position requires physical activity including walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Support and manage day-to-day operations to ensure all operational tasks are managed and executed efficiently.
- Address project needs as they integrate into operational responsibilities.
- Report and update scheduling, equipment utilization, planned maintenance and other operational requirements as they are established or deemed necessary.
- Effectively and efficiently manage the development and direction of the management team to drive corporate objectives through growth of revenue, technical productivity, promoting high quality customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
- Manage field staff and supervisors for work schedules, attendance, and vacation.
- Identify cost savings and implement improvements to optimize utilization of resources and achieve overall production objectives.
- Foster a strong safety culture and build capabilities within our operations.
- Develop and participate in the continuous improvement of standards, policies, and procedures, including identifying areas where improvement is necessary and initiating change.
- Solve problems by considering courses of action within the framework of Supervisor goals and standards.
- Ensure all supervisors and field staff know and adhere to company policies and regulations while supporting them in implementing improvements.
- Handle customer situations that require increased attention, as required.
- Manage issues and trends in an on-going manner to facilitate efficiencies, including effectiveness of processes and procedures.
- Ensure Safety is always a priority and consideration in all our activities by ensuring compliance with company safety policies and industry regulations and guidelines.
- Optimize utilization of resources and achieve overall production objectives, including forecasting of equipment and personnel changes with the assistance of Supervisors.
- Develop and implement new business strategies for the development and improvement of processes and procedures to improve corporate performance.
- Coordinate with operations and maintenance departments to ensure maintenance and repair work is prioritized and efficiently performed.
- Actively manage personnel, participate, and assist with recruitment, hiring, terminations, performance, conflict resolution, as required.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and maintained.
- Ensure all necessary information is communicated to those who require the information.
- Ability to drill down, understand root cause and resolve complex issues.
- Perform other tasks, responsibilities, and oddities, as requested by management,
