Respite is an amazing opportunity for individuals to learn new skills and to have new social and environmental experiences. This is a contracted position and is very flexible based on the needs of the families and the availability of the caregiver. Most contracts are, on average, for one weekend per month. **Requirements**:

- **Experiences and/or education supporting individuals who have developmental disabilities**
- **Spare bedroom in YOUR home for the child/ youth to sleep in**
- Experience utilizing Positive Behavioural Supports
- Able to provide overnight respite at least one weekend each month on average
- 19 years of age and older
- Current First Aid/CPR Certificate (or willing to be certified)
- Clear Criminal Record and Police Information Check
- Valid Driver’s License and use of a safe and reliable vehicle
- Ability to pass a thorough screening process
- Willing to assist individuals in participating in community activities
- Willing to facilitate a warm, caring, and positive environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Experiences and/or education supporting individuals who have developmental disabilities is preferred
