What You’ll Do

The Conversion Services Manager is responsible for the planning elements as it relates to client conversions and onboardings. The role involves in depth analysis with the new client to understand the client’s business and expectations and prepare the client for Fidelity Clearing Canada’s (FCC) systems and processes. This role works closely with the operations teams and is accountable for ensuring a seamless integration of the client’s business onto FCC’s platform. For client conversions this role will have a specific focus on the assets that are transitioning to FCC and coordinating the transfer of those assets to FCC.
- Analyzing and translating client requirements into actionable instructions for internal teams.
- Proficient in the FCC product suite, with ability to clearly communicate the functionality of those products to onboarding clients.
- Excellent coordination skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and third-party vendors ensuring timely setup and delivery.
- Work with the onboarding client to review system access, configuration, and authorization levels.
- Understand the various client types (IB, PM, Omnibus) that FCC supports and how they differentiate.
- Skilled in interpreting, troubleshooting, and managing data.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to communicate technical requirements in a simplified manner when speaking to clients.
- Understanding of FCC’s systems’ workflows and provide recommendations to clients for setup.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines and managing client expectations.
- Working with appropriate mutual fund manufacturers, depositories and counterparties and stock exchanges as required.
- Preparation of Memorandum of Understanding, getting buy in from stakeholders.
- Responsible for scheduling and planning the below events according to the onboarding timelines:

- Recurring events
- Operational cut-offs
- RESP methodologies
- RRIF payments
- Specimen plan changes
- Reconciliation of conversion accounts
- Security master reviews to ensure that FCC is able to hold
- Certificate and GIC re-registrations

Who We’re Looking For
- Completed Post-Secondary education or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years’ experience within a client conversion/carrying broker position or similar experience working within the financial industry
- Brokerage Operations experience is an asset
- Canadian Securities Course Certification is a nice to have

- Strong understanding of Securities operations including a thorough understanding of workflows and methodologies, including front, middle and back-office operations. Project integration expertise developed knowledge of the practices, procedures and principles of conversions and implementations Proven experience in managing directly or indirectly teams or individuals
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- performs and leads complex analyses, accurately interprets information and consistently provides meaningful business insight
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Communicates clearly with peers and with senior management. Ability to translate complicated concepts into meaningful business terminology
- Ability to make decisions using sound judgement
- Positions involving data mapping require strong analytical and technical skills
- Team skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internally as well as externally
