**A day in the life of Accounts Payable - Team Lead**:

- Primary support for the Accounts Payable Supervisor
- Process claims and provide timely updates to Legal team to mitigate risk for the organization.
- Reconciliation of credit card accounts and ensure timely payments are made.
- Bi-weekly and monthly reconciliations of large vendor accounts.
- Communicate with various internal and external stakeholders (suppliers, departments, and branches) providing solutions to payment updates, discrepancies, and enquiries.
- Ensure suppliers payments are settled as per T’s and C’s and requests are answered promptly.
- Update weekly cash out report.
- Verify that proper supporting documentation are in order before requesting approval from manager for payment.
- Evaluate process shortfalls, gaps within AP department and recommend process changes with the approval of Manager.
- Provide support to team members and workload prioritization.
- Effectively communicate regarding payment escalations, ensuring that expectations are met within the stipulated turnaround time.
- Responsible for special projects assigned by Accounts Payable Manager
- Create and maintain SOPs as needed (must approve by Manager)
- Creating a professional and pleasant working environment that inspires the team.

**Requirements**:

- 3-5 years of Accounting and Accounts Payable preferably in a high-volume environment in the transportation industry
- Post-Secondary education or equivalent.
- Demonstrate computer software proficiency with Microsoft Office; intermediary to advanced Excel skills would be a strong asset.
- Strong organizational skills to meet multiple deadlines, prioritize and execute multiple tasks, while maintaining attention to detail.
- Willingness to take initiative
- Flexibility to manage increased volume of work.
- Desire to take ownership of tasks assigned and willingness to learn.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to work effectively with limited supervision within a fast-paced team environment.
