CAMH is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director to join our team to lead the Northern Partnerships, Virtual Care & ECHO Services portfolio. The Director will play a key role in leading CAMH to supporting equity in access to quality mental health services and capacity-building with northern, remote and/or underserved communities, including northern partnerships in Ontario and Nunavut.

The services offered in the portfolio include:

- Providing community-oriented psychiatry services in northern Ontario and Nunavut, through an integrated hybrid model of care, including in-person (fly-in and drive-in) and virtual patient visits, support indirect care with community based primary care providers and offering unique resident education opportunities.
- Support CAMH’s organizational capacity to leverage and implement virtual care through policy and protocol development, support resources, training and evaluation.
- Support virtual mental health communities of practice through the Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes Ontario Mental Health at CAMH and the University of Toronto (ECHO ONMH) program, as well serve as a national resource training centre for the development of new ECHOs as a SuperHub (collaboration between CAMH and UHN).

Reporting to the Senior Vice-President, Clinical Care, and working closely with executive committee members of psychiatry partnerships with Ontario, Nunavut and ECHO, the Director will provide leadership and oversight to the strategic directions of the services, support interestholder engagement and collaboration, and plan and support implementation of the strategic plans, operational workplans and key quality improvement initiatives. The Director, works closely with Medical leadership of Northern Partnerships, Virtual Mental Health and ECHO.

Key leadership initiatives for the Director will include:

- Lead our approach to engagement and partnership with northern and underserved communities in the development of the portfolio’s programs and initiatives, guided by a commitment to inclusion, collaboration and co-design.
- Support and manage relationships with senior levels of provincial, territorial government, community-based organizations and Departments of Psychiatry at Ontario-based medical schools.
- Cultivate and maintain partnerships within the networks and communities
- Collaborate with leaders across CAMH and the mental health system to manage and enhance partnerships and priority initiatives with northern, remote and/or underserved communities.
- Negotiate and maintain partnership agreements with over 50+ partners and oversee the effective delivery of the services.
- Plan and execute regular meetings, including partners, executive committee members, funders and other interestholders, and other modes of communication to keep partners engaged.
- Ensure the effective functioning of the services, including overseeing governance structures.
- Act as an escalation point for issues management and conflict resolution.
- Oversee the development and implementation of strategy for the services in the portfolio, including providing leadership to quality improvement initiatives, in alignment with organization goals and relevant regulations.
- In a dyad leadership model, work closely with the Medical Director, to plan and innovate mental health services and capacity building initiatives, and serve on the CAMH Clinical Leadership Team.
- Establish the necessary structures and teams to implement, monitor and improve upon key initiatives and service operations.
- Collaborate closely with leaders at CAMH in legal services, finance, education, Shkaabe Makwa, public affairs, analytics, clinical information and the Information Management Group, as well as externally such as provincial, territorial, Departments of Psychiatry at Canadian-based medical schools and health system leaders, to advance the work.
- Work with provincial and territorial governments to support the ongoing sustainability and growth.
