**Our Life Skills Outreach Program in Red Deer is seeking a Full Time Permanent Intervention and Support Specialists**

McMan’s **PDD** **Life Skills Outreach Program **provides hands-on training and education to clients. Intervention and Support Specialists focus on individuals who struggle with addiction and/or mental health issues along with the criteria for eligibility for Disability Services through the Government of Alberta.

**Minimum Qualifications and Requirements**:

- Diploma in the Human Services Field and/or minimum 2 years human services experience _(consideration will be given to those with partially completed education)_
- Proof of Membership in Professional Association (when applicable)
- Experience in working with substance abuse, AISH, as well as PDD.
- Committed to developing positive and therapeutic relationships with clients.
- Standard First Aid - Level C CPR, Suicide Intervention Training & De-Escalation Training
- Intervention Record & Criminal Record Checks including the vulnerable sector.
- Class 5 Divers License, Clean Drivers Abstract and reliable vehicle for occasional client transportation required.
- Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous Culture considered an asset.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Work within a Harm Reduction framework
- Working with high-risk clients with severe addiction and/or mental health issues
- Develop trusting relationships with clients.
- Assist with obtaining and maintaining housing.
- Assist with daily tasks such as:

- Money Management
- Daily Medications
- Grocery Shopping
- Client Transportation
- Encourage daily hygiene.

**Wage Range**: $22.71/hr. - $28.65/hr. Plus, Travel Reimbursement at $0.505/KM.

**Hours of work**:40 hours per week. Flexible hours required with availability to work some evenings.
