**ABOUT THE FOUNDATION**:
The Palin Foundation exists to make sure students at TMU feel safe, feel heard and feel supported. We are looking to continue to build a team that is dedicated to advancing this purpose. The Foundation administers the Toronto Metropolitan Student Centre (TMU-SC) along with Oakham House. TMU-SC is home to student unions, affiliated campus groups, The Eyeopener newspaper, Met Radio and the Good Food Centre. Inside Oakham House you’ll find the Office of the Ombudsperson, Oakham Café, The Met Campus Pub and a host of historic rentable venue spaces.

**POSITION OVERVIEW**:
Working collaboratively with the Executive Director and Senior Staff. The Manager, Marketing and Communications will be responsible for designing and implementing the Foundation’s marketing and communications strategies, both inward and outward facing. This role also includes managing the workflow and growth of the Marketing & Communications Coordinator, Social Media ambassadors and contracted consultants.
**DUITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Marketing_
- Develop marketing tools and strategies for the Foundation’s target audience (students, faculty and the wider community)
- Design online and offline marketing tools, including for the website
- Create advertising and media buying plans
- Ensure consistency across channels: brand guidelines, visual assets, tone etc.
- Oversee organic social media content creation and scheduling
- Execute social media advertising plans
- Create and maintain clear planning and project management documents regarding all aspects of marketing and communications
- Manage data gathering tools and techniques to help us tell our story and building a base for development and fundraising
- Communications_
- Build and implement a communications plan that stems from the new foundation ‘Strategic Plan’.
- Oversee the organization’s branding and marketing materials
- Oversee all website and written communications: writing and/or copy editing all web
content and other written material
- Manage certain bespoke Foundation events and activities (such as Open Houses, Orientation partnerships etc.)
- Establish and maintain key contact data-Lead the creation of the foundation’s family of brands (Pub, Café, Event spaces, catering etc.) from the currently disjointed independent tracks
- Media Relations_
- Preparing press releases
- Organizing media coverage
- Grant Management and Reporting_
- Build marketing and communications reports for grants
- Design marketing and communications plans for prospective grants
- People Management_
- Manage the workflow and growth of the Marketing & Communications Coordinator
- Manage the workflow and growth of the Social Media ambassadors
- Manage and collaborate with specialized vendors Budget and Financial
- Manage the marketing spends in accordance with the board approved foundation budget
**JOB QUALIFICATIONS**
- Completion of a degree in Marketing and Communications, or equivalent work experience

- A capacity to work in a small team with competing priorities
- Excellent command of English, both written and oral.

- Familiarity with working in a university setting
- Experience working in a unionized environment
- Required skills & demonstrated knowledge_
- Strong knowledge of the Abode creative suite
- Well versed in advertising tools (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Google)-Experience with Google Analytics and creating custom reports
- Experience with Mailchimp or like platforms
- Physical Effort & Working Conditions_
- This position requires routine physical activity. The incumbent is frequently using a computer/technology while composing and preparing reports, documents and letters for extended periods of time. Physical movement may also be required for extended periods of time while participating in special events.
- The majority of the incumbent's time is spent in an office environment. The incumbent is required to meet multiple and conflicting deadlines on a regular ongoing basis.
