**PURCHASER**

The Purchaser is responsible for ensuring that the company buys the best merchandise at the best price to meet its inventory and product requirements.

The Purchaser reports to Accounting Manager.

**RESPONSABILITIES**
- Plan, organize, control and evaluate the purchasing activities of all manufacturing facilities.
- Forecast inventory requirements and control inventory based on facility needs and budgets.
- Research and survey buying markets to identify the most optimal suppliers.Issue approved purchase orders ensuring flow of inventory that guarantees optimum stock levels.
- Review and check vendor invoices for accuracy and authenticity and process invoices in a timely manner.
- Analyze inventory needs based on inventory levels and ensure adequate stock levels for sales requirements.
- Advise management of lead time required to obtain products or services.
- Participate in creating purchasing policies and procedures for ensuring the availability of all necessary materials required to support the sales process.
- Develop and maintain strong relationship with vendors and suppliers.
- Source new suppliers and materials including through business networking.
- Evaluate and adjust for variances to budgets.
- Perform pricing analysis and update management on supplier and market changes.
- Advise management on innovative procurement ideas and opportunities.
- Identify process issues and lead process improvement activities to reduce cost.
- Track all purchase orders and vendor invoices.
- Check and maintain records of all products received at sites as needed.
- Receive and maintain copies of all major purchasing orders and invoices.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- Good forecasting ability with strong analytical and interpretive skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Able to build and maintain lasting professional relationships
- Basic mathematical skills with ability to calculate amounts such as discounts.
- Good negotiation skills.
- Strong computer skills in a Windows environment.

**REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- 3-5 years progressive experience in a purchasing role.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, or Supply Chain Management considered an asset.
- Working experience in the relative industries preferred.Knowledge of local markets for the industry.
- Certified Professional Purchaser (C.P.P.) designation or registration in the educational program of the Purchasing Management Association of Canada considered an asset.

**WORK CONDITIONS**
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
- Sitting for extended periods

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $20.07-$27.00 per hour
