As a HR Data Analyst, you will be possessing a depth of understanding of human resources, payroll and auditing best practices. This role leads cross-departmental collaboration to assess business needs, perform gap analysis and develop solutions aligned with organizational goals & objectives. With a strong analytics mindset, this role translates human resources data into reporting and system functionality that supports evidence-based decision making and organizational planning.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Process bi-weekly hourly and salary payroll and maintaining all payroll operations
- Prepare periodic reporting (including year-end) for payroll and related items (i.e. T4/T4A’s, seniority lists, vacation allotment, track probation periods, input pay rate changes etc.)
- Locate efficiencies within the HRIS system
- Monitor and assess for accurate system results related to payroll, and HR administration and recommend corrective action where needed
- Collaborate with end users to assess system performance and implement adjustments as required
- Consult with business units to leverage HR system to support strategic objectives
- Lead the support, communication and skills development of the broader community of system user groups
- Responsible for configuration, system maintenance, testing and updates of HR and payroll data
- Develop and maintain catalogue of job structure, report specifications, security roles, business process documentation and HRIS architecture
- Ensure system is configured in accordance with provisions of collective agreements and all union/non-union terms and conditions of employment
- Provide support to the HR Administrator for pension remittances, administering group benefit plans and reporting

**Educational/Technical Competencies**
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in HR (not a requirement, but preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in human resources, HR reporting and data analysis, and/or payroll
- Demonstrated experience with Time and Labour and HRIS systems
- Experience executing payroll and administering group benefit for over 500 employees, ideally in a blended union/non-union environment CHRP/CHRL or PCP would be a strong asset
- Strong knowledge of human resources, payroll and auditing best practices and principles
- Solid understanding of HRIS and payroll technologies and reporting (i.e. Kronos, ADP)
- Sound knowledge of collective agreements, Ontario provincial legislation and payroll fundamentals
- Knowledge of principles and practices of organization, planning, records management, research and general administration
- Must have access to a reliable vehicle, up to date insurance and a valid driving license
- Must be fully COVID vaccinated

- Superior computer literacy in MS office is required and a working knowledge of Kronos, and ADP is a strong asset
