We currently have an opportunity for a Social Media Specialist to join our team in the Winnipeg or Steinbach branch. The Social Media Specialist will play a crucial role in enhancing SCU’s social media presence by managing and executing strategic social media initiatives. This role is responsible for creating high-quality, compelling content for multiple social media platforms, as well as monitoring and engaging with audiences, and analyzing performance to drive engagement, build brand loyalty, and support business goals.

**Specific Responsibilities**:

- Develop, implement and manage a social media content calendar aligned with marketing initiatives and organizational goals.
- Leverage competitive research to determine platform, messaging, and key audiences.
- Plan, create, publish, and share new content (including original text, images, and video) to build meaningful member connections, increase brand awareness, and encourage community members to engage with the brand.
- Maintain daily management of social media accounts, including posting, scheduling, and responding to comments and messages, while ensuring consistent messaging and brand voice across all platforms.
- Actively engage followers, members, and influencers on social media to foster a positive brand reputation and build an engaged online community.
- Investigate, assess, and recommend new or emerging strategies to reach audiences.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and maintain a content calendar. Plan and schedule posts to ensure consistent, timely and relevant content is delivered.
- Develop proactive and reactive communication strategies to respond to feedback and protect the organization’s reputation.
- Work with a variety of cross-functional business partners, including senior management and project leaders, to support the conception, planning, creation, implementation and dissemination of social media plans that align to brand and organizational goals.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communication Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience would be considered.
- 4 to 7 years of demonstrated experience in social media, digital marketing, and content creation, preferably within the financial services sector.
- Proficiency in social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc), as well as management tools and analytics platforms.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational skills, analytical talent, and attention to detail.
- Proven ability and experience in developing engaging content with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Graphic design and video editing experience preferred.
- Experience developing and executing on a comprehensive content strategy.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
